Big Millwall interview: Moro reflects on a changing footballing world, growing as a head coach – and whether Ivanovic and Coburn are the next great Lions striking duo.

A lot has changed in football in the 23 years since Steve Morison made his professional debut for Northampton Town at the age of eighteen.

Over the course of a seventeen-year career, the legendary striker scored 190 goals, earned 20 caps for Wales, and famously scored the winning goal in Millwall’s promotion to the Championship in the 2017 League One playoff final.

All the while, the game underwent a fundamental change.Gone are the days when anything that happened during a game was dealt with on the spot.

Modern players are constantly scrutinised on social media, and they receive far more data and analysis before and after matches, as well as during training.

Morison witnessed this change firsthand, first as a senior player in the locker room and later as a coach, a position he had already decided on.
