Snoop Dogg and Modric bring ‘most buzz’ to Swansea

Snoop Dogg and Modric bring ‘most buzz’ to Swansea.

Swansea City captain Ben Cabango says Luka Modric and Snoop Dogg’s investment in the club has created the “most buzz in a long time.”

Former Ballon d’Or winner Modric became an investor and co-owner of Championship club Swansea in April, and rapper Snoop Dogg followed suit last month.

Cabango, 25, has been with the club for 11 years and says the increased media attention has resulted in welcome higher expectations. “This is the most buzz we’ve had around Swansea for a long time,” Cabango told the crowd.

“There is a bit of expectation on us now, which is great. “Hopefully, we can get something good out of this season. “Everyone here is happy.” After losing to Middlesbrough on the first day of the season, the Swans have recovered with home victories in the Carabao Cup and Championship.

Their midweek cup victory over League Two Crawley Town was followed by an even more impressive 1-0 win over Sheffield United.

The victories extend head coach Alan Sheehan’s impressive run of form at the Swansea.

com Stadium. “Our home games we’ve had since he has been in charge… six wins and one draw in the eight games,” Cabango explained.

“Our defence has been solid, and we always look like we’re going to score. “It’s obviously a good balance and we’re always on the front foot, aggressive and I bet we’re a hard team to play against.”

Following the departure of Harry Darling, Cabango is in the process of forming a new centre-back partnership with summer signing Cameron Burgess.

The 29-year-old Australian international signed a three-year contract with Sheehan’s side in June after finishing his contract with Ipswich Town.

Saturday’s win over Sheffield United resulted in the season’s first clean sheet, and Cabango says the two are “really improving” their relationship. “It takes a while to make connections,” Cabango explained.

“Every day, we’re learning more about each other, and things are getting better. “Saturday was our second game together, and we’re already getting to know each other, how he plays and how I play.

“Obviously the longer we start playing together the more we’re going to learn about each other and the better it’s going to be.”
