CCTV cameras installed in crackdown on drug-related anti-social behaviour in Luton.

Following concerns voiced by neighbours and the Bury Park Business Forum, cameras have been installed in alleyways along Beech Road, Ash Road, and Ivy Road.

Members of the Luton Community Police squad completed the work as part of Operation Future.

A spokeswoman stated: “As part of OP FUTURE, your local community officers, in collaboration with our valued partners, have taken proactive steps to address recurring concerns highlighted by residents and the Bury Park Business Forum about drug-related activity and anti-social behaviour (ASB).

“These projects are part of our efforts to make Bury Park a safer environment for all.

 

“The cameras will be actively monitored, and any offenders who are detected will face prosecution. This enforcement action reflects the voices of our community, and we appreciate everyone who spoke up to express their concerns.”

CCTV has also been installed on Bradgers Hill Road to improve public safety and combat anti-social behaviour, particularly in places frequented by students.

The initiative, supported by Luton Borough Council, will support efforts to:

A representative for the Luton Community Policing Team stated, “Footage will be monitored in accordance with privacy guidelines and used to support enforcement and community wellbeing.”
