Hundreds attend ‘stop the boats’ protest.
Hundreds of people gathered for a “stop the boats” protest, while a smaller counter-demonstration was staged nearby.
Approximately 400 people attended the anti-immigrant march in Newtown, Powys, chanting against Labour and hearing from Reform UK councillor Karl Lewis, who quit the Conservatives in March.
At the same time, approximately 200 people gathered in a separate rally on a nearby street to support refugees and migrants.
Dyfed-Powys Police have been asked if any arrests were made.
