What’s Burnt Oak like after dark? Council wants your views

What’s Burnt Oak like after dark? Council wants your views.

Barnet Council has initiated a new study to investigate how Burnt Oak may be enhanced after dark. The council has hired consultants Nexus to conduct a night-time research.

This will entail gathering information, studying the area in the evenings and at night, and communicating directly with residents, businesses, and community groups. The survey will look at how people feel about Burnt Oak between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. This applies to those who live, work, use, or visit the area.

The goal is to learn about people’s experiences and identify modifications that could help improve the community after dark.

According to a Barnet Council spokesperson, the study will look into the challenges and opportunities that users face in terms of wayfinding, transport, lighting, public amenities, perceived and experienced safety, street scene, streetscape legibility, lighting, and the overall evening and nighttime experience.

“The outcomes will provide guidance for future possible improvements to the night-time environment in Burnt Oak, and potentially a brough wide night time strategy building on the knowledge and insight presented.”

The Nexus team will be at Burnt Oak Tube Station today (Monday, September 1) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to engage with local residents.
