Plans submitted to build new hairdressers’ in Ipswich.

On behalf of Mr and Mrs Bobbins, James Francis Design and Architectural Services applied to build a hairdressing salon on Melbourne Road.

Plans call for the construction of a single-story building at the rear of 44 Melbourne Road. The hairdressers’ management plan states that the business will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and closed on Sundays and bank holidays.

No appointments or surgeries will take place outside of these hours. During operation hours, a dedicated client parking area will be accessible, as well as safe cycle storage space.

Clients must enter the salon by appointment only, with a minimum 15-minute delay between the end of one session and the commencement of the following one.

This strategy is intended to provide controlled client flow while minimising any influence on parking, nearby amenities, or highway safety. The barbershop will be operated primarily by Mr and Mrs Bobbin, with the property being partially converted to class E.
