A major Sheffield road was closed this morning following an incident, with emergency services on the scene.
The incident occurred on Penistone Road in Hillsborough and is ongoing.

South Yorkshire Police and the South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service are both on the scene, dealing with what locals refer to as a ‘bad crash’. It appears to have occurred on Penistone Road near the Owlerton Stadium turnoff.
According to local accounts, traffic is gridlocked. South Yorkshire Police verified that they are on the scene. They told The Star: “At 9.43am this morning (Wednesday, October 22), we were called to reports of a multi-car road traffic collision at the junction of Bradfield Road and Penistone Road in Sheffield.”
“It is reported that a black Skoda Fabia and a white Toyota were involved in the collision.”
Emergency services are on the site, and Bradfield Road is closed as they work.” They stated that no major injuries had been recorded thus yet.
