Coventry warning to motorists over traffic lights work on busy route.
Coventry City Council has warning drivers of potential delays due to work on traffic signals on a key Coventry road.
The lights in question are at the intersection of Holbrook Lane and Swallow Road, and maintenance will begin on Monday, November 10. Swallow Road is part of a new housing development on land that was previously home to industrial enterprises such as Meggitt.
There are lights at the bottom of the road, but it is unclear whether more are being added to Holbrook Lane.
Swallow has grown in popularity among drivers wanting to avoid the inevitable congestion on Burnaby Road.
The council claims that getting the lights up and running will benefit everyone. “Please be advised that the traffic signals at the Holbrook Lane/Swallow Road junction will be commissioned during the week beginning November 10, 2025,” a council official stated.
“This is being done to Improve Traffic flow, Reduce Congestion and Increase safety for road users and pedestrians.”The council’s roadworks page on its website advises work will begin at 9.30am on Monday, predicted to last until the afternoon on 14 November.
There will be a lane closure on the first day of work, the Monday, with drivers being advised there will be possible delays.
