Nick Woltemade, a striker for Newcastle United, had a quiet Sunday as the Magpies fell to Brentford 3-1.
Eddie Howe demanded an explanation for Newcastle United’s away-day problems earlier this month.
Since then, Newcastle has lost to West Ham United and then to Brentford once more.
On Sunday, Howe’s team suffered a 3-1 loss against Brentford, nearly equal the loss at West Ham.
Take the lead, fail to seize the initiative, completely crumble in the second half and leave the capital with a 3-1 loss: that has been the blueprint for Newcastle’s two poor defeats in London.
Eddie Howe on Nick Woltemade’s performance for Newcastle United
Newcastle faced serious issues in West London, but the Magpies suffered greatly as a result of Howe’s inaction following Dan Burn’s yellow card.
After Burn was sent off, things truly took a turn for the worst, but Newcastle is still having trouble moving forward.
Although Nick Woltemade has had a significant influence since moving from Stuttgart to Newcastle, the past few weeks have been challenging.
In his last six games for Newcastle, Woltemade has only managed one goal, and he looked dejected at Brentford.
The German didn’t appear to be scoring, but he had a hand—or rather, a foot—in Harvey Barnes’ first goal.
Howe discussed Woltemade’s performance following the final whistle, as demonstrated by
Howe declined to place the blame on Woltemade when asked if the striker’s tendency to drop deep and get on the ball rather than occupy center backs is hurting Newcastle.
Howe will consider all aspects, including Woltemade’s role, but he believes that Newcastle as a whole needs to improve.
Howe thinks Woltemade is making an effort, but Sunday’s loss at Brentford was a “tough” afternoon.
The Magpies manager even stated that he would like to make a “different decision” than to play Woltemade every week, but he is left with little options due to injuries to Yoane Wissa and William Osula.
If there had been other possibilities, Woltemade might have been on the bench at Brentford, but Howe’s injuries prevented him from having that luxury.
Howe remarked, “I don’t think it’s just on Nick or nothing.” “I believe he has had a fantastic start to his career here, and it is my responsibility to defend him. I believe we haven’t given him the support he needs to be as productive as he can be, particularly now. I believed he was having trouble with the game.
It’s challenging once more because he’s our only healthy center forward. Once more, he is under extra strain and burden, even if I could have preferred to have made a different choice for him.
“But, of course, we need to look at also how we’re performing away from home and if there are any changes that need to be made, then we need to make them,” he continued. “But yeah, the team has to do better. We have to do better in helping him and supporting him. He’s given everything since he’s been here and he’s had to take that weight on his shoulders on his own. It’s not been easy.”

Nick Woltemade’s alarming Newcastle United statistics
A lull was perhaps to be expected, but Woltemade has grown to be a fan favorite.
Before completing his significant transfer to Newcastle, the massive forward only had one season of Bundesliga glory.
Woltemade is currently facing some challenges while wearing a Newcastle shirt after a strong start.
Woltemade has struggled to regain his best form, according to the statistics from his last three Premier League appearances.

Woltemade appears to be getting more and more alone, but Newcastle needs the ball to stick, especially away from home.
Woltemade’s predicament is complicated by the fact that Newcastle’s wingers and midfielders are finding it difficult to supply and support him, and the Magpies have few alternative choices.
This indicates that Woltemade is currently dealing with a significant amount of work, thus some jaded expressions might not come as a surprise.
After the international break, Howe will be hoping for his colleagues to step up and have a far greater influence because Newcastle needs Woltemade fired.
