REVEALED: Norwich restaurants recently hit with 1 star hygiene rating.
The list of restaurants and takeaways that failed food hygiene inspections has been disclosed. In recent months, several Norwich establishments have received one or zero stars for hygiene.
After an inspection on October 7, inspectors warned Friends Takeaway in Bowthorpe that company needed to make significant adjustments to its food safety management system.
Officers were also worried about the cleanliness and condition of the facilities and buildings.

Last year, the takeout received the same rating after being informed that it needed to enhance its facility cleanliness and food safety management.

Ji The Chicken Shop received a one-star rating in July, with inspectors stating that significant improvements in food safety management were required.
However, the company has recently undergone an inspection, and a new rating will be announced shortly.
Didi’s Dining, on Clancy Road, was warned earlier this year that it needed significant improvements in procedures to ensure the food on offer was safe to eat following an inspection on May 9.
When Norwich City Council examined the location near Mousehold Heath, it received a low rating despite its reputation for serving Caribbean and African cuisine.
The agency also found there was no pest proof door screen and holes in the wall cladding.

Fireaway on St Benedicts Street in Norwich received a bad rating after the inspector discovered a number of issues, including “food was not covered in the main servery area in the shop, which also allowed for the accumulation of fruit flies”.
During a visit on August 12, the Norwich City Council inspector discovered that food held in the chilled storage unit at the business was unsafe since it was stored over the permissible maximum level.
BUSINESSES WHO BOUNCED BACK

Cook Mama, located on Fye Bridge Street near Anglia Square, received a one-star hygiene rating following an examination by Norwich City Council on May 28.
However, the restaurant, known for its varied African delicacies, was advised that it had to significantly improve its food safety management. Following a recent inspection, the company has received a four-star rating.
