Despite its low rating, Thamesmead is home to a diverse range of animals, including kingfishers, partridges, hares, cuckoos, and the rare seal, according to VisitGreenwich.org. Nature highlights in the area include Manorway Green, located in north Thamesmead near the River Thames;

the Edible Garden off Maran Way, created as part of the South Thamesmead Garden Estate improvement works; and the South Thamesmead Garden Estate, which is transforming underutilised open spaces into flourishing parkland.

According to Rightmove, house prices in Thamesmead have averaged £366,979 during the past year.

The majority of properties sold in Thamesmead last year were flats, with an average sale price of £361,317.

Terraced residences sold for an average of £359,881, while detached properties fetched £479,562.
