Stat Attack – Bournemouth v West Ham

Stat Attack: West Ham vs. Bournemouth

This is the W Ham game’s xG. A wind blowing down the pitch gave West Ham the advantage, while the terrible weather made play difficult. W Ham took the lead after two mistakes, but the first twenty minutes were boring. Wilson was able to bring the ball down and make a swift shot because Senesi misjudged the ball’s flight, and Petrovic might have slipped as he retreated. Despite his weak hand, he managed to get the ball in (ranked 1 in 30). After 20 minutes, Kroupi failed to

the goal area’s right side (ranked 1 in 7). Then, despite having a slow response time (1 in 5), Brooks sliced a shot wide. In the 29th minute, W Ham had a 1 in 3 rated chance using Opta xG, although this seems to be a bug in the system because Wilson was facing the wrong direction when he connected within the six-yard box, making it a challenging opportunity. However, he doubled the lead five minutes later by turning fast and hooking it into the upper left corner (1 in 9). The xG at halftime was AFCB 0.43 W Ham 0.52, and that was pretty much the end of a very poor first half.
After a dull first fifteen minutes, Bournemouth launched an all-out attack in the second half. Adli and Christie both had attempts blocked in the 62nd minute. Evanilson was poised to shoot when Killman seemed to grab the ball away, earning AFCB a penalty six minutes later. Without making a legitimate attempt to play the ball, the W Ham defender may have been fortunate to have remained on the pitch. Tavernier scored 78%, and the score was 2-1. The opportunities continued to present themselves. Adli had a shot stopped by Areola (3 in 5), Evanilson missed a header (1 in 7), and Unal scored his first goal in the 76th minute.participation (3 out of 10). Three minutes later, AFCB had a double chance when Tavernier sent the rebound over while under pressure (1 in 3) and Evanilson forced a save (1 in 6). Adli had a large chance (37%) and Unal had a nice chance (1 in 6) in the 86th minute, both of which were saved. It had been an intense second half, but the attack subsided and we were unable to equalise. Understat had a marginally lower margin (AFCB 3.48 W Ham 0.35) at the final whistle, with the xG being AFCB 4.08 W Ham 0.65.

Four changes were made from the Aston Villa match, including two back-to-back substitutions: Cook (4) took Smith’s place and Diakite (18) took Milosavljevic’s place. The injured Semenyo was replaced by Brooks, and the injured Kluivert was replaced by Kroupi (22). Given that W Ham were probably going to sit back, we were unsure before kickoff if Kroupi would be used as a winger with Tavernier (16) moved inside or if Evanilson (9) and Kroupi would be a front two. From what I could see on TV, there was some sort of rotation between Taverneir and Kroupi. At halftime, with West Ham leading 2-0, the first substitutions were made.

Despite the fact that the wind would now be against us, Cook would push over to partner Senesi (5), Christie (10) would replace Scott (8), and Jimenez (20) would replace Daikite. Adli (21) took Brooks’ spot at the hour mark, but he seemed to be in the middle. With the squad mostly relying on attack, Adams (12) was traded for Unal (26) at 79 minutes, 2-1. Unal scored a minute later. We then made our last substitution, moving Jimenez further forward and replacing Kroupi with Smith (15), who moved into right-back. We dominated this game, as evidenced by the average positions, and we can regret not scoring all three points.
