Newcastle go for Hugo Ekitike! Magpies join Arsenal and Man Utd in race to land €100m Eintracht Frankfurt striker.
Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt, joining Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea in their pursuit of the prolific French striker.
The 23-year-old is in high demand after a breakout season in the Bundesliga, but Frankfurt’s €100 million (£86.2 million) asking price remains a significant barrier for potential bidders.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Newcastle United has made early contact with Eintracht Frankfurt over Ekitike, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano. The Magpies are looking for a new striker after Callum Wilson left.
Despite substantial Premier League interest, with Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United all reportedly interested in signing the French striker, Frankfurt maintains their €100 million valuation for the player.
Ekitike had a fantastic 2024-25 season, scoring 22 goals and providing 12 assists across all competitions. He helped Eintracht Frankfurt qualify for the Champions League and has since established himself as one of Europe’s best young forwards. Newcastle could consider him as a future successor for Alexander Isak, who is receiving interest from top European clubs.

Newcastle had been keen in signing Joao Pedro; but, with the Brazilian forward now off the market, Ekitike has risen to the top of Newcastle’s shopping list. Al Hilal and Al Qadsiah from the Saudi Pro League have also expressed interest in the French striker, although he wants to stay in Europe and may prefer Premier League football.
