Further tests needed on man after joint Norwich stab attack.
A guy who was found guilty by a jury of participating in a stabbing attack near a Norwich hotel over five years ago will face more testing.
Mohammed Miah was reported to have carried out a “joint enterprise” stab attack on the victim alongside Isaiah Weekes.
The victim, a man in his fifties, was attacked at the bottom of steps at the Nelson Hotel on Prince of Wales Road and suffered lacerations to the back of his neck and right arm, as well as an abdominal injury.

The attack, which occurred in the early hours of February 14, 2020, was caught on Weekes’ mobile phone, along with a message “out on violence” according to Norwich Crown Court.

Miah, who has no fixed residence but was previously from Bedfordshire, was charged with wounding with intent after the 2020 attack.
Following a trial in his absence in August, a jury determined that the 23-year-old, who was ruled unfit to enter a plea, committed the act alleged against him.

His case was brought back to court on Friday (November 7) for a mention hearing. Miah’s attorney, Matthew Pardoe, stated that they were awaiting a doctor’s report and would be open to treatment if a bed became available.
Judge Anthony Bate delayed the matter until December 12 for additional proceedings.

Weekes, 21, was sentenced last month to two years in a Young Offenders Institution (YOI) after previously admitting to wounding without intent.
Weekes, from Blackburn, also guilty to two counts of threatening a person with a bladed article in the Preston area.
Despite the “unclear” circumstances surrounding the incident, Judge Bate stated that Weekes and Miah “came upon” the victim before “ugly” violence ensued.
Prosecutor Jerry Hayes claimed Weekes and Miah were involved in the attack on the victim, who was drunk and had no recall of what happened, despite the “very severe” injuries.
